Storm Guard Roofing of Naperville Serving Oswego

This village grew from under 4,000 people to more than 39,000 in a single generation, and the roofs went up just as fast. They are coming due now, street by street, and we replace them with heavier material and the ventilation the original plans left out.

Certified Oswego Roofers

We are a fully licensed roofing contractor in Oswego working Kendall County daily, from the townhome rows off Route 34 to the older houses in Original Town near the river. Shared roof planes and single-family tear-offs get scoped and scheduled differently, and we treat them that way.

Our Roofing Services

As your roofing company in Oswego, Storm Guard covers detached and attached residential roofs, retail and light commercial work along the Route 34 corridor, and the gutters and siding that fail on the same timeline as the roof.

Residential Roofing

Roughly seven in ten homes here were built between 1990 and 2009, so our residential work is mostly first-replacement tear-offs where the original builder shingle has simply run out of service life.

Commercial Roofing

We handle commercial roofing in Oswego for the retail centers and business properties along Route 34 and Orchard Road, plus the industrial park buildings that need low-slope membrane rather than shingles.

Gutters

We maintain, repair, and install gutter systems on homes where new construction next door has changed how the lot drains, which is a recurring problem on the growing edges of the village.

Siding

We install, repair, and replace siding that stands up to wind coming across open ground, in vinyl, aluminum, wood, wood-clad, or composite, and we tarp an opened wall the same day when a storm gets there first.

Emergency Tarping

When wind takes a slope off or a tree comes down on the house, call us. We will get an emergency tarp secured over the opening and then give you a full assessment once it is safe to be on the roof.

WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT

Plenty of contractors treat this side of the Fox River as the edge of their range. We work Kendall County weekly, on the association buildings off Route 34 as readily as on single-family streets. On July 15, 2024 the National Weather Service documented a tornado through Oswego that snapped large trees near Route 71, and two-inch hail fell here in May 2019. Every roof inspection and storm damage repair is scoped to the whole building, not one unit. Call (630) 216-8297.

Our Roofing Process: What to Expect

You can follow our process without a translator: inspect, price in writing, install to spec, clean up completely.

01

Inspection and Assessment

We begin with a complete professional inspection, slope by slope, with particular attention to the shared roof planes and party-wall flashing on attached homes.

02

Detailed Estimate

Our roofing contractors provide an itemized estimate, and where an association is involved we write it so a board can review and approve it without a second meeting.

03

Repair or Installation

We tear off to the deck, replace anything soft, and install the full system with correct underlayment, valley protection, and ridge ventilation.

04

Final Inspection and Cleanup

Final inspection, a magnet run across the drive and lawn, debris hauled off, and documentation handed over the same day we finish.

ROOF TYPES & MATERIALS

Architectural asphalt covers most of the village, composite handles the higher-end streets, and metal roofing solves the low-pitch sections where shingles were never the right answer.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Because the village was built in one enormous wave. Around 70 percent of housing in Oswego was constructed between 1990 and 2009, with a median build year near 2002, during the period when Kendall County was named the fastest-growing county in the United States. Builder-grade shingles installed across a subdivision in 2002 reach the end of their service life across that same subdivision, which is why whole streets need roofs in the same season.

Any of these is worth a call rather than a wait-and-see summer.

  1. Shingles curling at the corners or cupping in the middle of a slope
  2. Granules gathering in the gutters after every rain
  3. Water stains on upstairs ceilings or in the attic decking
  4. Dented gutters, vents, or downspouts, which usually means hail hit the roof too
  5. Daylight visible through the attic roof deck

Yes, and about one in five homes in the village is attached, so this is standard work here. What changes on an association job:

  1. Roof planes are shared across multiple owners, so the whole building is scoped together
  2. Party-wall and continuous-ridge flashing details need to be handled correctly
  3. Color and profile have to match across the building and often across the community
  4. Boards need written scope and documentation before they can vote
  5. Work is phased so residents keep driveway and entry access throughout

Yes. On July 15, 2024 the National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado that formed north of Yorkville and tracked across Bristol and Oswego, with the survey specifically noting numerous large trees uprooted and snapped in a subdivision near Route 71. That day set a record for the local forecast office with 32 confirmed tornadoes. Falling limbs on a 20-year-old roof cause impact damage that often is not noticed until the following spring.

Two written warranties, on every roof we install.

  • A manufacturer warranty covering defects in the roofing materials
  • A Storm Guard workmanship warranty covering our installation
  • Registration and photo records handed over at completion, including copies for an association if one is involved

Large enough to total a roof. Two-inch hail was reported in Oswego in May 2019, and one-inch hail came through in the March 2026 storms. Functional damage to asphalt shingles generally begins around one inch, and it usually shows as bruising and granule loss rather than a hole, which is why so much of it goes unclaimed until the roof starts leaking.

Inside a few days. Prompt reporting matters to most insurers, and evidence gets harder to tie to a specific storm the longer you wait. On an attached building it is worth inspecting every roof plane at once, because damage over one unit routinely shows up inside the neighboring one.

Yes. Roughly three percent of village housing predates 1940, most of it in the original settlement near the Fox River crossing. Those roofs have steeper pitches, older framing, and mature tree canopy overhead, which means a different debris and ice-dam profile than the open subdivisions on the edge of town. We scope them differently for that reason.

Most single-family homes here are done in one day. Larger homes, steeper pitches, or premium materials run two to five days. Attached buildings are scheduled in phases across several days so residents keep access, and we confirm the schedule with the association before anything is delivered to the site.

The number comes from roof area, pitch, material, and what the deck looks like after tear-off. We measure rather than estimate from the street, tell you what we find underneath, and provide an itemized price with financing available if you need it.

Annually, and after any hail or high-wind event. On attached buildings we recommend the association inspect all roof planes on the same cycle, because a problem on one owner’s slope routinely shows up inside a neighbor’s unit.
